Meet Dr. Motwani

Dr. Rajeev MotwaniDr. Rajeev “Raj” Motwani received his Bachelor of Science in Biology as well as his Master of Science in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of California, Riverside. While in the Inland Empire, Dr. Motwani volunteered regularly at the local Compassion Clinic, which fueled his interest in dentistry.

Dr. Motwani went on to earn his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Roseman University in South Jordan, Utah, where he also met and married his dental school sweetheart. His scholastic accomplishments were recognized when he received the Academic Achievement Award and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society. During his time in Utah, Dr. Motwani also conducted clinical research in the field of Temporomandibular Joint Osteoarthritis. His findings were ultimately presented at the International Association for Dental Research in Boston, Massachusetts and published in the Archives of Oral Biology.

Following dental school, Dr. Motwani completed his training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville. During this time, he also completed his medical degree and 1- year of General Surgery residency at the University of Florida, College of Medicine, a nationally ranked medical school. While at the University of Florida, Dr. Motwani had the privilege of training under Dr. M. Franklin Dolwick, a world-renowned expert in both TMJ and Orthognathic Surgery. Dr. Motwani also completed extensive training in both adult and pediatric general anesthesia as well as benign pathology, craniomaxillofacial trauma, maxillomandibular reconstruction, and implant surgery. Dr. Motwani is now practicing in both San Jose and Cupertino and maintains an active license in dentistry, medicine, and general anesthesia.

Dr. Motwani, a Bay Area native, is ecstatic to return home to provide care to the community in which he grew up. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, dining at new restaurants and staying active while playing tennis and racquetball.
